If you get sick or injure yourself overseas, you may be able to claim unlimited medical expenses incurred overseas. Cover will not exceed 12 months from onset of illness or condition.

If you buy a policy after leaving the Australian air or sea terminal that is the departure point for your overseas journey, your cover is subject to a 3-day no-cover period. That means there is no cover under any section of the policy for an event that has already occurred, or that arises within the first 3 days of buying the policy. Buying before you fly avoids it.
